
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born July 10, 1980. [1] She is an American actor, performer and charitable philanthropist. Simpson at 17 years old, began her singing career in choirs of the church. The singer was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. Sweet Kisses, her first studio album, came out in 1999. It was a huge success, selling two million copies throughout the United States. She also enjoyed commercial success with her hit single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson decided to adopt a more mature image for her sophomore studio album, Irresistible (2001), and the title track became her second top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It sold three million copies in America. Simpson was well-known for her friendship with Nick Lachey and her wedding to him. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality TV show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica, between 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her movie debut on The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004). The singer also performed the cover version of "These boots are made for Walkin'" to be used in the soundtrack of the film. In 2006 she debuted her fifth studio album A Public Affair and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. After the release of her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the genre of country music. Simpson has also launched The Jessica Simpson Collection, a fashion-focused line that offers 34 categories of merchandise. It's the most profitable licensed brand for celebrities in the world that has more than $1 billion of sales as of today. In 2010, she was a star in the reality show The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion shows for Fashion Star's two seasons in 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has three kids.
